Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya is a famous motor racing circuit located in Montmeló, near Barcelona, Spain. It opened in 1991 and soon became one of the most important racing venues in Europe. The circuit is best known as the long-time home of the Spanish Grand Prix and has also hosted MotoGP and many other international events. Catalunya is known for its balanced layout, with a mix of long straights, medium-speed corners, and technical sections. Because it tests many different parts of a car’s performance, it has often been used for Formula One testing. Famous parts of the circuit include the long main straight, Turn 3, and the fast final sector in its newer layout. Today, Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya remains an important circuit in both Spanish and world motorsport.
