SV Racing on the cusp of title glory at North Yorkshire's Croft Circuit
Fri 19, Sep, 2014

SV Racing (SVR) and James Dorlin head to North Yorkshire’s Croft Circuit seeking title glory in the pivotal final rounds of the Junior Saloon Car Championship (20-21 September).

Croft, a charming 2.25mile motorsport venue in the North East of England, encompassing a heady mix of corners to test the mettle of even the most adaptable of drivers, as high-speed, high-adrenaline changes of direction like the Jim Clark Esses and Barcroft contrast a tight, technical Complex and final Hairpin.

Barnsley's Dorlin has led the Drivers’ standings since the very first round of the season and is on the verge of being crowned the 2014 junior Saloon Car Champion at a circuit that holds particularly special memories for him, as it was at Croft that he scored his first ever podium on his car racing debut, just days after his 14th birthday.

Having stood on the podium nine times already this year – six in celebration of race wins – Dorlin has a slender 15-point cushion over main title protagonist, Ben Colburn, and heads to the North Yorkshire venue confident he can keep his head down to claim the 2014 crown.

“We’re heading into this weekend looking at the bigger picture of the championship,” said Dorlin. “The first race is going to be the championship decider for me, so I’ve got to make sure I negotiate the first lap and avoid any contact in order to bag as many points as possible to potentially wrap up the championship, which will then mean I can have some fun in race two.

“This season has been great, and to have led the Drivers’ standings from the start, has exceeded all my expectations. We had some troubles along the way, but my association with the SV Racing team has been hugely beneficial to me this season, as I have ben given great tips and advice that help me extract the very best from myself and the car, so I would like to reward them by bringing home the title.”

Qualifying for the final two rounds of the Junior Saloon Car Championship (JSCC) is scheduled to get underway at 12.05 on Saturday (20 September), and will be followed by Round 13 at 17.05. Round 14 at 15.25 on Sunday (21 September) will conclude the 2014 season.
