Bryant-Meisner satisfied with Pau city race
Tue 13, May, 2014

John Bryant-Meisner was happy to pick some more points in the third round of the FIA Formula 3 European Championship, under the conditions that prevailed.

The Swedish racing driver was in good shape with a 12th, 11th and eighth in the three races held at the Pau, France.

It could have been an even better weekend if not a crash ahead of him, during race two, hadn't prevented him from a 6th place.

But after finishing the last race of the weekend, he was pleased with the progress he is making with Fortec.

He said: "I'm excited to get some more points, we show our speed and improve our position all the time. The car feels better all the time. That's a good sign."

"It was a really cool place to run a city race with our advanced F3 cars. It is hard and tough, one mistake and you are in a wall or in the armco guardrail."

Race two started in the rain with a pace-car. John was up in eighth place early and struggled to get heat into the tires.

With three laps left of the race, he had caught up with the drivers in front of him when a crash in front of stopped his charge.

He had to reverse and turn around to get around the cars in front and a number of cars passed him. He was finally 11th and a little disappointed not to have secured the points he probably could have from the potentional 6th place.

Race three was an improvement. Started in ninth place, was soon up on eighth, chasing the car ahead for the rest of the race.

He added: " I really like city races, they have a different charm but it is extremely difficult to overtake. It is often a question about the start and where you are positioned in the first corner, which determines where you'll end up in the race.

"It was a good weekend overall, I think I could have finished better in one race and done a bit better in the first qualifying session, but we were really fast which is good and we are heading in the right direction. It's a great position to be in for the next race at Hungaroring Ring in Hungary."
