Malvern returns to track action at Donington
Sun 19, Apr, 2015

Barkingside’s Scott Malvern returns to race action at Donington Park in Leicestershire at the weekend for the third and fourth rounds of the Radical Enduro Championship. Partnering with Chepstow based businessman Nick Jones the pair will be determined to improve on their highly promising start at Snetterton last month where they debuted the all new Kevin Mills Racing S&D Sealants car with a double podium finish losing out on a race win against the Kent based Cockill brothers in a grandstand finish final lap. Despite having victory snatched away in the final stages Scott was far from downbeat about the result “Nick has really improved so much from last season and to be in the position to fight for the race victory so late into the race is a real credit to him. We are also still learning the new car and had a couple of minor mechanical issues so I know that there is more to come”

When asked about long term ambitions Scott remarked “We will have to see. I love the strategy of long distance racing which is completely different from the single seater events where I have made my name and had a lot of success. I’d love the chance to compete in the Le Mans 24 hour race, and I know that I could give a good account of myself given the opportunity, but for now I am just concentrating on this current season which is going to be very busy. We have some excellent events this year not just at great tracks like Donington, Silverstone and Brands Hatch in the UK but the sensational Spa in Belgium and the legendary Monza in Italy and we end the season at Yas Marina in Abu Dhabi so I’m really looking forward to the challenge”

Scott and Nick take part in qualifying at Donington on Saturday afternoon with two 45 minute endurance races following on Sunday.
