Chipping Norton racer, Alice Powell, finished a superb 11th place in Race Two of the Formula One supporting, GP3 series in Barcelona, charging through the field from P25. Alice is the person on thegrid with the least experience in the GP3 car, and she had never been to the Spanish circuit before, as she missed the pre season test, due to budget.
The Friday practise did not go to plan, as a problem with the turbo pipe, meant Alice only got 15-20 minutes running out of the 45 minute session, "Missing vital track time was a big hindrance for me, as I needed to get time to learn the track as we... » read more
Multiple British Champion racer Nathan Freke has concluded a deal to race a Jaguar XF 24 at the Nurburgring 24 Hour race held on the full Nordschleife circuit which is 13 miles in length. In terms of endurance racing the Nurburgring ranks 2nd behind Le Mans on the European scene and is unusual in that it allows 190 cars on the track at once. Nathan will be partnered by two other British drivers Colin White and Rob Carvell. Felix Rosenqvist ended up fourth and sixth respectively in this weekend’s two Formula 3 races at the Grand Prix de Pau, with the French street classic gathering all of Europe’s F3 elite as the European and British championships combined to make up a competitive 24-car field. Rosenqvist was held back by a challenging and troubled qualifying session on Saturday morning, but proved that the pace was there for more with assertive drives in both races to reduce the gap to the top of the FIA European Formula 3 Championship standings.

Hillspeed’s Nathan Harrison consolidated his top six placing in the Ginetta Junior Championship at a wet and windy Thruxton Circuit in Hampshire over the weekend, 28th/29th April, with a best finish of fifth – second in the Rookie Class – during a rain-lashed sixth round of the campaign.
While qualifying didn’t go fully to plan for either Harrison or team-mate Pepe Massot, both first-year drivers produced superb performances in incredibly difficult race conditions to each secure healthy points finishes.

As if nothing can stop Darryl O’Young from scoring points at the World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) at the moment, the SEAT Leon WTCC driver rebounded from the lowly overall P16 starting place in Slovakia and pocketed eight points with two top six finishes in the Yokohama Drivers’ Trophy.
"Finishing 7th and 9th overall after starting from P16 was really the maximum result possible," said Darryl after achieving pleasing results on his Slovakia debut.
