Well the amazing adventure continues! I had my third weekend of competing in the Webcon UK National Formula Ford Championship, at Silverstone and as with the previous two I have come away with a win and a 2nd placed finish. But I cannot pretend it was easy this weekend.
My team, Cliff Dempsey Racing, were brilliant as always but I have to say I really didn’t know if I would be able to race this weekend. I awoke on Friday with a high temperature, terrible headache and chesty cough and a feelin... » read more» Click here to read the blog of Scott Malvern. Knockhill - British Formula FordWritten by Kieran Vernon. Saturday, June 27 2009.
A long drive up to the Knockhill circuit in Scotland for rounds 7, 8 and 9 of the championship. A very exciting short lap which is very challenging to get right every lap, due to the cars behaviour over the drops and rises. I enjoyed success here last year in the Ginetta G20 series, so i was hoping to put up another strong showing in the spirit.
Qualifying was fantastic, and yet disappointing, with a session filled with red flags, sitting in the pit lane seemingly with nothing left to give f... » read more» Click here to read the blog of Kieran Vernon. A mid season updateWritten by Matt Cherrington. Wednesday, June 24 2009.
Hi everyone,
First of all, apologies for the lack of updates in the past couple of months. We have been exceptionally busy on the development of the Bio-Ethanol car, and this has left little time for anything else! Hopefully as you read on you will see it has all been worth it... The season started way back in March at Snetterton, and although we showed strong pace in testing it became apparent that everyone else had a made a step forward as well, leaving me floundering on the outskirts of... » read more» Click here to read the blog of Matt Cherrington. Weekend at BrandsWritten by Campbell McHarg Cassidy. Tuesday, June 23 2009.
Brands Hatch – Testing
A Thursday night first date with a hot lawyer was not supposed to impact the weekend racing however things went astonishingly well and it was only at 2am that I realised that an 8am sign on was starting to look a little tight. A fitful few hours of sleep before the alarm went off and a high speed warm up drive through central London saw me at the leafy Kent circuit with whole minutes to spare. Talking of spare, Tony was edging towards going spare at me being late, yet ... » read more» Click here to read the blog of Campbell McHarg Cassidy. ![]() A public service announcement. As you might have seen it’s been a while since there were any press releases posted at Driver Database. Fear not, it’s not because I’ve quit publishing them and it is not because I haven’t gotten any lately. On the contrary, there are about 150 new messages in the press release inbox. The reason is the little guy in the photo attached. He was born on the 18th of June, some two weeks ahead of schedule, and has been keeping me very busy since. Things will get back to semi-normal here at Driver Database, I just nee...» read more
![]() Star Mazda. The second day of a two-day Star Mazda Championship presented by Goodyear test at Iowa Speedway was run under ideal conditions, with 14 drivers turning a total of 4,628 laps around the 7/8ths-mile oval. Widely experienced in road racing in both Europe and the U.S., but with no previous experience of any kind on an oval, current championship leader Englishman Adam Christodoulou redefined his comfort zone and turned the fastest lap of the day — and the test — a 22.059 (145.900 mph) in his #11 JDC Motorsports / Mo...» read more
Masters of F3.Dutch racing driver Carlo van Dam will not race in the Masters of F3 at Zandvoort this coming June 14, as the Kolles & Heinz Union-team - for which Carlo competes in the Formula 3 Euroseries this year - has decided to withdraw its entry. The new team, which made its debut in Formula 3 racing earlier this year, has opted to skip the non-championship Masters of F3-event to work on the problems that have so far plagued its efforts in the European series, prior to the next Formula 3 Euroseries rounds on June 27 and 28 ...» read more

Things will return to normal Written by Andreas, June 23 2009 ... it might take a bit of time though. As you might have seen in the "News" section me and the wife had our first baby last Thursday. Since then we've been in hospital where there's been lots of tests to see that everything's okay and we can go home. Today is the first day we're all home and it's g...
