Satisfying start for Prema Powerteam at Motorland
Wed 30, Apr, 2014

The 2014 campaign of Prema Powerteam in the 2014 Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 started with a double podium finish by Bruno Bonifacio at Motorland Aragón. The Brazilian driver, who took-off from the second row on the grid in both occasions, put his skills and experience to fruition as he captured a pair of very promising results. While in Race 1 he experienced a consistent run, in Race 2 he accomplished the feature by winning a spectacular battle. Thanks to his two good finishing positions, Bonifacio also put his name at the front end of the championship's table just seven points behind leader Nyck De Vries.

The weekend of Dennis Olsen started in the best possible way as he topped the charts in the first day of practice. In qualifying, things went differently though but the Norweigian didn't back down. In Race 1, he recovered from 18th on the grid to the 13th position, while on Sunday he fought back from 21st to a stunning 8th place, also scoring his first points in the process. After starting from 14th and 21st in the two qualifying session, Hans Villemi was forced to retire as he was hit by one of his opponents. In Race 2, the Estonian battled his way up for the whole distance and ended in 14th place.

Angelo Rosin – Team Principal

"Even if we didn't cruise to victory, I'm satisfied with the start of this year's championship. In Friday's practice we took first and second place with Olsen and Bonifacio. The Brazilian took second place in both his group's qualifying sessions before ending up twice on the podium. At his maiden run in the Eurocup, Olsen suffered from bad luck in qualifying but fully showed his fighting spirit. Villemi also did a good job even though he didn't score points in the end. We leave Spain aware that the situation is as open as ever and we can have our say for the title.
