Mission accomplished for Prema Powerteam at Jerez
Mon 20, Oct, 2014

Before the start of the final round of the Eurocup F.Renault 2.0, Prema had one goal. Retaining the second place of the driver's standings with Dennis Olsen. And the mission was accomplished, as the Norwegian driver was able to clinch the runner-up spot and emerge among the leading characters of the season.

In qualifying 1, Olsen took a brilliant pole before ending up in second place. Unfortunately, the stewards disqualified him not too much later for what was considered a "technical infraction". What happened though was actually a simple mistake that - as said by Renault themselves - didn't provide the driver with any advantage. Anyway, his second place was gone. In Race 2, Olsen started from row 4 and finished in 7th to accomplish his goal.

Once again, Hans Villemi also delivered a strong performance in day 1 by qualifying second in his group and then climbing onto the podium at the end of race 2. Brazilian Bruno Bonifacio made a quick recovery in race 1, ending up seventh after starting on row 9. In Race 2, taking-off from the same position, he finished in 13th place.

Angelo Rosin – Team Manager
"We completed a very positive season, that saw us become major players first with Bonifacio, and then with Olsen, who showed his driving and technical skills, also cruising to the second place in the drivers' standings. It's a pity for Bonifacio, who lost the chance to fight for the championship due to several unlucky breaks, while Villemi put together a very impressive progression, race by race".
