Handy Motorsport to star at Autosport International
Mon 15, Dec, 2014

Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship team Handy Motorsport and driver Simon Belcher will make a starring role at next month’s Autosport International Show at Birmingham’s NEC, after taking a dedicated stand at the annual motorsport and automotive spectacular.

Set to have a key presence on all four days of the show, which opens to media and trade visitors on Thursday, 8th January, and runs until Sunday, 11th January, the team will also be using the event to launch its exciting new ‘Elite Club’ sponsorship programme for small and medium sized businesses.

Situated in Hall 6 of the National Exhibition Centre, stand 6405, Handy Motorsport will have its Toyota Avensis BTCC car on display throughout the course of the show while the team’s commercial staff will be on hand to meet and greet fans and potential backers.

Importantly, existing sponsors will be able to enjoy the use of an exclusive lounge area while fans in attendance will have the opportunity to gain autographs and have a few pictures taken with touring car star Belcher. On the Saturday and Sunday of the show, he will also be involved in a Q&A session at the official BTCC stand where there will be additional opportunities for autograph hunters.

“We’re really looking forward to the Autosport show, it always signifies the proper start to the new motorsport year and it’s a fantastic event to be part of”, commented Belcher, “It’s very important for Handy Motorsport to have a stand and to have the car on display too as we’re working hard to attract more sponsors to be part of our BTCC programme – to help us progress up the grid.

“With that in mind, we’re launching our new Elite Club for small and medium sized businesses during the show. It’s a unique and cost-effective way for sponsors and commercial partners to get involved, enjoy great return on investment and really feel part of the team as true VIPs at the race track.”

The 2015 instalment of Autosport International actually marks the 25th anniversary of the show, an event which attracts tens of thousands of visitors with the addition of around 30,000 motorsport professionals. In short, it is the most important showcase for the motorsport industry as a whole.

Having already been able to confirm his return to BTCC action for a second year, Swindon-based Belcher is relishing being back on track when the new touring car campaign gets underway on Easter weekend at Brands Hatch in Kent and is looking forward to kicking off 2015 in style at the NEC.

“It feels like an absolute age since our first season in touring cars came to an end, we’re so hungry to get back out there testing and to develop the car as much as we can”, added Belcher, “Having such a strong presence at Autosport International will be the perfect way to get the ball rolling, we can’t wait to see everyone there!”
