Fri 30, Sep, 2016

A week later after Valencia´s round, Drivex is back in action for another F4 Spain event in the frame of the Festival de la Velocidad de Barcelona. Volegov, who stepped onto the podium twice in Valencia, among the favorites. Marta García, Spain´s racer supported by FIA Women in Motor Sport Commission, and Antolín González eye improvement following their positive debut last weekend.

No time to rest as Drivex heads to Barcelona for another F4 Spain event and there are three other thrilling races ahead for those young drivers coming from karting.

The Alcalá de Henares-based team expects to continue its run of strong performances in the series. Despite Russia´s Aleksander Vartanyan, who sits 2nd in the drivers´ standings behind Richard Verschoor, will be absent from this round due to other commitments in Formula Renault-based series, Drivex will enter three Tatuus for Nikita Volegov, Marta García and Antolín González.

Volegov will arrive in Barcelona with a more boost after his double podium finish and wants to keep that positive momentum going. Nikita will try to improve his 3rd to his credit on the podium. On the other hand, the female driver supported by the FIA Women in Motor Sport Commission made a positive debut and brought 5th home with her Tatuus. With more experience, Marta has potential for improvement. In the same way, Antolín expects to improve his previous performances. Despite the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya is a demanding circuit, Drivex carried out a positive test earlier this year and it will provide a valuable starting point.

Miguel Ángel de Castro: “We are ready for another round in the F4 Spain. Despite only a few days have gone by since Valencia, we were able to draw positive conclusions and we learnt why we slightly struggled last weekend, as we were one or two tenths off pace in order to fight for wins and pole positions. Our test in Barcelona was a nice experience and it shall help us over the course of the weekend. Obviously we aren´t sure everything will run according to plan, but I think it´s a good starting point. My confidence in our drivers is very high and I feel positive about our chances in Barcelona.”
