De los Milagros to make NASCAR Whelen debut
Thu 17, Jul, 2014

Another step forward for the Spaniard as he will debut in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series, a NASCAR-sanctioned championship. De los Milagros will drive a Ford Mustang entered by Ford Autolix Competition and, to complicate matters, the track is entirely new for him: Nürburgring.

José Manuel De los Milagros continues the internationalization of his motorsport career and it opens a new chapter this week, always moving towards the pinnacle of motorsport. The Madrid-born pilot will make his debut in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series, the European championship following in the wake of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series organized by the France family for more than seventy years.

De los Milagros shall drive a Ford Mustang entered by Ford Autolix Competition at Nürburgring, the same outfit where Borja García, a former GP2 racer, drives. The Spanish duo will be one of the most powerful driver line-ups in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series. The efforts made by his management and the willingness of Ford Autolix Competition paid off, as the team was keen to have a skilled and experienced driver. Despite De los Milagros has never raced at the track next to Eifel mountains, taking into account his experience will no longer constitute an obstacle to achieve his targets.

“I am delighted because I have got this chance to participate in this championship, the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series. It is a dream come true. The car is so different from others I have driven so far… I am really looking forward to it. On the other hand it will be also my debut at this track, a classic venue in motorsport”, the driver points out, expressing appreciation for “Ford Autolix Competition.  It will be a pleasure to team up with Borja García, such an outstanding racing driver, and it is going to be nice to work with him. I would like iMAGE Motorsport initiative, because without their help this would not have been possible. I will try to do my best to deserve the trust. It is amazing the starting grid with drivers such as Vilariño, Baguette, Longin, Kumpen, Larini, Cheever, Lauda, Bouchut or Leinders”.

There are two races scheduled over the weekend.
