Abbie Eaton selected 'Rising Star' ahead of debut GT Cup season
Mon 02, Mar, 2015

2014 Mazda MX5 Supercup champion Abbie Eaton has been selected as a BRDC 'Rising Star'. The British Racing Driver's Club is one of the most exclusive clubs in motor racing where only the most successful racing drivers from Great Britain and the Commonwelth are members. The BRDC Rising Stars are selected by the club to represent the BRDC as 'junior members' in national championships with the hopes of later graduating to full members.

"It's a fantastic accolade to have been given - I can't quite believe it if I'm honest. I hope to continue my success over the next few years and beyond and hopefully become a full member. Thanks to those who have given me this opportunity!", Abbie Eaton states on her website.

Abbie Eaton moves away from the Mazda MX5's to GT racing for 2015 where she will team up with co-driver Michael Symons in the Geoff Steil Racing team driving a BMW M3 E46 GTR in the GTB class of the GT Cup.

"I’m really looking forward to starting my debut GT Cup season. The championship seems to be going from strength to strength and from what I’ve seen so far, the racing looks competitive and affordable, which is great for me. I’m looking forward to working with Geoff [Steel] too. He is an awesome guy and has a lot of knowledge so hopefully I can learn a lot from him. My co-driver Michael [Symons] is a quick driver so hopefully we can aim for some podium finishes this year. I’m really excited and looking forward to it."

The 2015 GT Cup season starts at the end of April at Donington Park.
