Young talent tested for DMS

The record young Oscar Palm, only 15 years old from Jönköping Sweden, tested on Thursday Alx Danielsson's Porsche 997 GT3 RS Cup for Danielsson Motorsport at Mantorp Park. Oscar, who this year came third in the Swedish Karting Championship in the ICA category impressed during the test despite of bad weather that made the track conditions tricky.

- It was a wonderful feeling to drive a Porsche 997, Oscar Palm says. I got to learn to get to grips with the car properly and Alx gave me many valuable tips. This was a fantastic and valuable learning experience and I really wish to thank Alx and DMS for giving me this opportunity.

The test was a part of DMS's driver development programme, Young Gun Programme, which since earlier Carl-Olov Carlsson is a part of. Alx Danielsson, the man behind this project, was very satisfied with Oscar's test.

- Oscar is despite of his age very mature and has all the qualities of making it very far, Alx Danielsson says. He showed he is a quick learner and that is perhaps one of the key qualities of a future professional race car driver. Oscar's high ambitions rhymes very well with DMS's profile and we're now aiming for a continued co-operation where Oscar is a part of YGP.

To be able to make the test an exemption had to be made from the Swedish Motorsport Authority SBF because of Oscar's low age.

- I would really like to thank SBF for helping out, says Alx Danielsson. Oscar lived up to the expectations and then some. It's important that we help to bring forward new talent and I would therefor also like to thank Mantorp Park for keeping the track open for this test despite being so late in the season.

Driver Database is huge
December 2 2008
I started this site in 2004 with about 100 pages related to the Formula 1 drivers of the 2004 season. Now, more than four years later it has grown a bit. How big is it, you ask? Total number of pages: 210744 (at Dec 01) Size of text in database: 47.5 MB While 47.5 MB might not sound like much...
