Vervisch sets sight on Asian F3 title
German Formula 3 runner-up 2007 Frédéric Vervisch will participate in the first round of the new Asian Formula 3 Championship on the Sepang International Circuit at the end of november. Vervisch reached an agreement with last seasons’ team champion Team Goddard.
Frédéric Vervisch: “We want to be well-prepared at the start of the new season. That’s why we chose to go to Asia this winter, in order to compete in the Formula 3 Championship over there. That way, we can get a lot of valuable mileage at a cheap price.”
“Of course, I’ve never been to Asia. So I don’t know the circuits. I will have to rely on the experience of the team. On the other hand, I’m convinced that I will be at the front of the field, considering the knowledge I gained in this years’ German Formula 3 Championship. The Sepang track is very beautiful and presents an interesting challenge for all drivers. We will already be testing this Sunday to get a feeling for the car and the track. In doing so, we know exactly where we are at the moment.”
“During my Asian adventure, I will be encouraged by the price the champion receives at the end of the season; a test with the new Force India Formula 1 team.”
The first race weekend of the Asian Formula Three 2007-08 takes place on November 24 and 25 in Sepang, in course of the A1 Grand Prix of Malaysia.
