TP Formula lines up a second car for Guimarães

TP Formula doubles and lines up a second car in the Euroseries 3000 for the promising Felipe Guimarães.

The 17-year-old Brazilian competed last year in the South American Formula 3 Championship, achieving one pole position, two race wins and six further podiums on his way to finishing fourth in his debut season, racing against more experienced drivers.

The young gun from Brasilia is recognized as one of Brazil’s brightest young talents and, over the winter, joined the A1GP World Cup of Motorsport, undertaking the rookie driver role for the final three events for A1 Team Brazil, which is headed up by Emerson Fittipaldi.

Guimarães has therefore joined Adam Khan in Valencia for the third round of the Euroseries 3000 and has taken part yesterday to a common test session. He immediately found a good feeling with the car and the team and impressed the F.3000 paddock leading part of the afternoon session where he then finished 5th overall.

Gianluca Pomozzi (TP Formula): "We are extremely pleased to welcome a promising young driver as Felipe in our team; moreover he comes from the home country of many motorsport legends! We have worked hard in order to arrange a second car in time for Valencia and we are really looking forward to the week-end"

Emerson Fittipaldi: “A major objective of our work at A1 Team Brazil is to nurture young Brazilian talent, so that we can be in a position to draw on this talent pool for the A1GP series. Felipe is a driver that we have pinpointed as we believe he has a lot of talent to give, and he has demonstrated his capabilities with his achievements in the South American F3 Championship. Racing in the Euroseries 3000 is going to be invaluable for his development in driving at this level, and I give him my full support.”

Driver Database is huge
December 2 2008
I started this site in 2004 with about 100 pages related to the Formula 1 drivers of the 2004 season. Now, more than four years later it has grown a bit. How big is it, you ask? Total number of pages: 210744 (at Dec 01) Size of text in database: 47.5 MB While 47.5 MB might not sound like much...
