Steady run for Piscopo in maiden Champ Car Atlantic test
Edoardo Piscopo had his first taste of a Champ Car Atlantic car this week at Buttonwillow, 250 Km North of San Francisco, California. The tests, held between Monday and Tuesday, also represented a first-time approach for Eurointernational. Piscopo quickly adapted to the Mazda-powered Swift, finding a good feeling with Chief Engineer Gerald Tyler, the latest addition to the team owned by Antonio Ferrari. On particularly cold conditions, Edoardo completed a brief shakedown before covering 128 laps on Day 2, using three sets of tires. During the first laps, and with old rubber, he immediately lowered his laptimes under the 58 barrier, running consistently between 57.4 and 57.6. Then Edoardo went down to 57.03 with the first set of new tires, while the second one brought him to increase his pace up to the mark of 57.00, despite being disturbed by some oil left on-track by the touring and GT cars sharing the racetrack. Finally, with his third set, Piscopo clocked his best lap of the day in 56.90, close to Franck Perera's track record of 56.70. The ending phase saw the driver increase his regular pace and margin by keeping himself around the 57 mark. Right after the end of the session, Edoardo started traveling to Zhuhai, where he'll contest his first full A1GP event. The next tests are planned to take place in January at Houston, Roebiling Road, and Sebring.

December 2 2008
I started this site in 2004 with about 100 pages related to the Formula 1 drivers of the 2004 season. Now, more than four years later it has grown a bit. How big is it, you ask? Total number of pages: 210744 (at Dec 01) Size of text in database: 47.5 MB While 47.5 MB might not sound like much...
