Prema's Macau GP report - Friday

The second practice which was held today on the circuit of Macao, determined the starting grid for tomorrow's "Qualification Race". The session was interrupted three times by red flags due to many incidents, which made the strategy decisions even more difficult. Roberto Streit concluded the qualifying in ninth position but he will start from the fourth row due to a penalty received from a driver in front of him. Unfortunate qualifying for Renger Van der Zande who went off track at the beginning of the session. The Dutch driver damaged the car and was therefore unable to continue which left him in twenty-third position at the end of the session.

Angelo Rosin, Team Manager
"Regrettably Van der Zande's qualifying session was cut short as he damaged the car when he hit the barrier after 5 laps. Streit's session was conditioned by traffic problems. With the second set of tyres Roberto was unlucky and he wasn't able t o find the ideal conditions in order to obtain the desired results. At Macao a little bit of luck is useful, and today we weren't very lucky. The important thing now is to carry out an intelligent race tomorrow, in order to gain positions for Sunday's grid."

Roberto Streit
"At the beginning of the session I used my first set of new tyres but the dirty track didn't allow me to make the most out of them. Nevertheless, I was among the top positions and I was expecting to improve with the second set of tyres. Unfortunately the red flags ruined our qualifying because I was forced to come in and refuel in an unexpected moment and consequently I found myself among a group of cars that didn't help on a flying lap. Tomorrow it will be fundamental to stay out of trouble and finish the race without any damage and even if possible by gaining some positions. Finishing in the top 6 would be ideal in view of Sunday's race."

Renger Van der Zande
"Unfortunately I committe d a mistake which compromised my entire qualifying. Yesterday everything went quite well and even this morning during the free practice I had completed the work schedule. This mistake came at the worst moment, and now I can only expect two difficult races where I will have to gain positions."

Driver Database is huge
December 2 2008
I started this site in 2004 with about 100 pages related to the Formula 1 drivers of the 2004 season. Now, more than four years later it has grown a bit. How big is it, you ask? Total number of pages: 210744 (at Dec 01) Size of text in database: 47.5 MB While 47.5 MB might not sound like much...
