Prema Powerteam
Good experience for the Prema rookies
The first round of the 2008 F.Renault Eurocup took off last weekend at Spa-Francorchamps. Prema Powerteam experienced a pretty troubled event in terms of points scored, but the trip to Belgium gave the three rookies of the Italian team the chance to make experience. The race was expected to be tough, with a record-high 48 entries (much part of them with previous experiences behind the shoulders) and Carlos Munoz, Patrick Reiterer, Kazimieras Vasiliauskas knew it would have been difficult to emerge from the pack. As results are something that come gradually in motorsports, Munoz and Reiterer, assigned to the A group in qualifying, took respectively the 17th an 18th spot, while Vasiliaukas was stopped by an engine problem in the B group and had to content with 24th. All the drivers brought their cars to the finish on Race 1. Reiterer ended up in 23rd, Munoz five spots behind and Vasiliauskas in 33rd. On Race 2, only Munoz was able to see the checkered flag in 25th, as both team-mates were caught in crashes.
