Bridger maintains championship challenge
Jay arrived at Thruxton feeling fairly confident following on from his wins at both Monza and Snetterton. The confidence remained high after qualifying second in Q1 and gaining Pole in Q2.
Making a good start in Race 1 Jay found it difficult to catch Andy Meyrick as there were two International cars between them for most of the race. Eventually passing these cars Jay soon caught up with Meyrick, setting the fastest lap. He tried to overtake going into the last corner but Meyrick closed the door, beating Jay to the chequered flag by less than a car’s length in what was the most exciting race of the season so far.
Race 2 saw Jay starting from pole position but, in avoiding an accident on the first lap, Jay lost time and Steven Guerrero managed to pass. Right behind Steven, at about half distance, Jay managed to overtake on the inside under braking, regaining the lead. Unfortunately the Safety Car was soon deployed and although the re-start was good for Jay he started to struggle with a gearbox problem. With about 5 laps to go, coming out of the complex a gear was missed allowing Guerrero to pass. The chequered flag was a welcome sight at the end of the race and another podium second place was gained.
Jay is now just 9 points behind Meyrick in the Championship.

It was about ten years ago I last used Linux so it did take me a while to get Apache, PHP, MySQL and FTP set up properly and importing the d...
