SHAHAAN TOP ROOKIE AT FORMULA RENAULT NEC HOCKENHEIM OPENERApril 22 2012 Shahaan ends Formula Renault NEC curtain-raiser ninth in points out of 39 drivers after qualifying third fastest - India?s Shahaan Engineer delivered on his notable pre-season promise during the opening event of the Formula Renault 2.0 Northern European Cup at Hockenheim in Germany over the weekend, 21st/22nd April, to round-out his series debut an impressive ninth overall in the standings ? after also stunning the paddock with an amazing top three performance in the second qualifying session. Such was the outright pace of the naturally talented 16-year-old on his first competitive outing in mainland Europe, he sensationally outperformed 37 of the 39 drivers taking part in the hotly contested qualifying period. Proving beyond doubt there is much more to come from the Mumbai racer in the prestigious European series, he also underlined his true star potential for the future. Shahaan Produces Superb TRS Debut Shahaan Engineer enjoyed a hugely successful debut weekend in the Toyota Racing Series in New Zealand, the 16 year old taking sixth place in the "Spirit of a Nation" feature race.
