Lap records set:
Round 1 Ellough Park
Round 3 Clay Pigeon

9th Easykart International Grand Finals - 60 Easykart
Position: 19
Team/entry: Easykart UK
Ronan comments: 8th quickest out of 115 in timed qualifying (3rd out of 29 in group).
Heat 1 - Ronan was running in 4th place when deliberate contact from another driver took Ronan off the track, his kart becoming stuck across a kerb, so Ronan had to get out and drag the kart back onto the track - which by the time he got going again left him in 21st place. The offending driver was excluded from the Heat as a result of his actions, so Ronan gained a place to give him 20th.

Heat 2 - 2nd place out of 26.

Without the Heat 1 incident Ronan would have undoubtedly been starting top ten in the Grand Final.

As it was, Ronan ended up Pole in the B Final, and finished Third, winning a trophy and promotion to 31st on the grid for the Grand Final. Ronan was in 15th by the first corner, but got caught up in several incidents which saw him come off the track twice - but he fought his way up from the back to snatch 19th place on the line from fellow EDP driver, Venezuelan Jonathan Ceccotto.

Easykart European Grand Finals - 60cc
Position: 17
Team/entry: ACR Birel
Kart: Birel (Easykart)
Ronan comments: Qualified 14th overall out of 44 drivers
Heat 1 - 5th
Heat 2 - 18th (actually finished 4th but Ronan received a 10 second penalty for contact, which was disputed - even by the driver he was supposed to have hit!)
Started grid 19th, involved in a multi-kart accident on the first lap which left him in 26th, but fought his way back through the pack to finish 17th.

2009
Easykart World Finals - Cadet 60cc
Position: 47
Team/entry: Team UK
Kart: Birel Easykart
Ronan comments: Had engine problems with the supplied kart but despite this, Ronan still made it into the B Final 8th on the grid. Unfortunately the kart was getting slower each lap but Ronan held onto 19th - giving him 47th out of 76 in his first International racing experience at the age of 11.

Easykart UK - Cadet
Position: 3 (865 points)
Team/entry: Ronan McKenzie
Kart: Birel Easykart

Easykart UK E-Plate - Cadet
Position: 1
Team/entry: Ronan McKenzie
Kart: Birel Easykart
Ronan comments: Winning the "E" Plate Open Championship entitled Ronan to run with the coveted "E" plates instead of a number on his kart for the 2010 season.
