Died after an accident in the 1973 Dutch Grand Prix when his car flipped upside down and caught fire after a suspected tyre failure. Williamson became trapped under the car but the marshalls and racing driver David Purley, who had stopped to help, could not turn the car around and get Williamson out in time.
