Jono LesterJono Lester was poised for his first Super Taikyu victory at Sportsland Sugo over the weekend, before a failed suspension component forced a lengthy unscheduled pit stop for repairs to the #28 PETRONAS Syntium Team Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG. Lester, in his second event for the champion PETRONAS Syntium Team, looked an early chance for victory in the #28 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 at the hands of Super GT champion Masataka Yanagida. Jono LesterJono Lester has finished in second place in his Super Taikyu debut with the PETRONAS Syntium Team, in the 4 Hours of Fuji Speedway over the weekend. Driving the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 paired with Tatsuya Kataoka (Japan) and Toyota Racing Series team mate Melvin Moh (Malaysia), Lester entered qualifying having driven the car in dry, damp and extreme wet conditions during pre-event testing. Jono LesterJono Lester has completed his first season in the Toyota Racing Series with a sixth place finish in the 57th running of the New Zealand Grand Prix at Manfeild over the weekend. Leading into the final round of the 2012 championship, Lester held the Rookie points lead by a slender margin of 18 points from Austrian driver Lucas Auer and Brazilian Bruno Bonifacio. Jono LesterJono Lester will return to his home circuit of Manfeild this weekend to take the grid for the 57th New Zealand Grand Prix, and the final round of the 2012 Toyota Racing Series.
