Chipping Norton racer, Alice Powell, finished a superb 11th place in Race Two of the Formula One supporting, GP3 series in Barcelona, charging through the field from P25. Alice is the person on thegrid with the least experience in the GP3 car, and she had never been to the Spanish circuit before, as she missed the pre season test, due to budget.

Chipping Norton racer, Alice Powell, will be moving up to the GP3 Series this season with Status Grand Prix after securing sponsorship. The 19-year-old is moving up to the Formula One support series after three seasons racing in the UK in the Formula Renault 2.0 category in conjunction with Manor Competition, which included winning the BARC F.Renault title in 2010.
Alice had her first ever test in the 280bhp Turbo charged car last week, and is now preparing for the first race, which is in Barcelona on the 12/13 May.

Chipping Norton racer, Alice Powell, will be on Sky Sports News on the 8th of March, in aid of International Women’s Day. The 19 year old will be talking about her career so far, plans for the future and also what it is like to be a woman in a male dominated sport.
The interview will also feature Alice coaching young female karters, at her karting school at the Formula Fast Indoor Kart track in Banbury. Alice has also recently finished filming with Sky Sports F1 reporter, Natalie Pinkham, on a short programme, not only about her career, but fitness in the sport too. Alice has been selected as A BRDC rising star for a second year running, due to her achievements in 2011. Aged 24 and under, the BRDC Rising Stars are very much the future of the Club, today. Scouted from trackside, the BRDC Rising Stars are in effect ‘Junior Members’ of the Club, all taking their motor racing very seriously and all aiming for a professional career within the sport.
Lewis Hamilton and Alex Lloyd are just two success stories from the Rising Star scheme, so the BRDC Rising Star panellist, has a proven track record of selecting only the best of individuals.

Alice Powell, 2010 Formula Renault BARC Champion finished second in the MRF Series, by taking two podiums spots in front of a very large F1 crowd out in India, on the New Dehli circuit. Alice created a lot of media attention, by being only female racer in the series, receiving many interviews, including from the BBC.

On the 16th of October 2011, Alice made history, yet again, by becoming the first ever female to commentate on a motorsport event for ITV. She joined ITV Sport commentator, Richard John Neil in the comms box to commentate on the final round of the Formula Renault BARC Championship, the same championship she won this time last year. Alice did the commentary live on ITV4 at the Silverstone circuit. Richard John Neil said "Alice did a fantastic job! We are extremely pleased with her! I would love to work with her again."
