Alexandre Imperatori news
Imperatore is vice-champion
Formula 3 Japan National.
The Japan F3 finale was set to be at Sugo, a few hours north of Tokyo: the track featured important level changes, a very twisty first sector and very high speed second part so that it would prove quite a challenge for the drivers. On thursday, Alexandre concentrated on learning this new track and was experiencing difficulties with the handling of the car and focused on solving these issues. “We are lacking general grip and the circuit is very particular so we need to find the right adjustments that will suit the car best. We a... » Read moreImperatori bags two new podiums in Fuji

The competitors of the Japan F3 Championship were gathered in Fuji last week-end for the penultimate round of the Championship. As always, they were competing jointly in this week end with the Formula Nippon. Friday featured 2 practice sessions of 40 minutes each, during which Alexandre worked with his engineer to find a good setup: “I am rather satisfied with the car on old tyres but we still have to solve issues with the new rubber. Of course there is room for improvement, especially in the last and twisty third sector.” ... » Read moreDouble victory for Imperatori

The Japanese F3 championship entered in the last third of the season last week end at Motegi, and the title is far from decided in the National class. Alexandre Imperatori: “We had some misfortune this year and that means that despite our strong form we are chasing the leader in the standings but everything is open and we have to push all-out till the end.” On friday, two practice sessions of 45 minutes each gave time to the drivers to adjust their setup and Alexandre worked with his engineer through the program that was planned fo... » Read morePodium in Suzuka for Imperatori
Formula 3 Japan National class.
After a month break, the japanese F3 was back on track at the mythic Suzuka circuit. It is the second time this year that the drivers visit this venue, yet the heat of the japanese summer would surely pose some challenges: “In anticipation of this race I have used the break to train very hard and make sure I am ready to dedicate my full focus to seeking the performance” Imperatori said. The week-end began promisingly, with Alexandre setting the fastest time on old tyres in friday’s practice session. “We used different new tyres in the aftern... » Read moreAlmost perfect weekend for Imperatori

This week-end’s races in Okayama marked the entry into the second half of the championship for the competitors of the Japanese Formula 3 Championship. Alexandre arrived the circuit eager to build on his success in Motegi. Okayama (hosted the pacific round of the F1 championship in 94 and 95) is the only track where Alex has a good previous knowledge this season: indeed, he tested for two days with ThreeBond racing after the 2006 season. An additional test day was organized on thursday since no winter tests could take place at the venue. ... » Read more

One of Driverdb's more hard working contributers Ross found a weird bug related to driver's birthdates a few days ago. I took a look at it now and found out that PHP's (the scripting language that forms the backbone of the site) mktime function that I use to translate the birth date (which is in a y...
