Carlin end season on a high in Barcelona
World Series by Renault.
Carlin’s Formula Renault 3.5 team ended the 2008 World Series on a high this weekend, as Red Bull drivers Robert Wickens and Mikhail Aleshin grasped three podiums between them in Barcelona. The Carlin duo both finished on the podium in an eventful race on Saturday, with Aleshin finishing second; just ahead of team mate Wickens. Wickens completed a strong weekend to take another third place finish in Sunday’s race while Aleshin had to be content with 14th having been forced to serve a drive-through penalty. Following a wet qualifying session ... » Read moreWickens finishes third in Estoril

The Red Bull racer was third for the first half of the race, but lost out to Alvaro Barba to cross the line in fourth place. However, second placed driver Marcos Martinez was later handed a 25 second penalty, elevating Wickens to the final podium position. Team mate Mikhail Aleshin made amends for a difficult qualifying session to finish ninth. As qualifying began, the World Series dr... » Read moreWickens and Aleshin make strong start at Estoril

World Series by Renault.
Carlin Motorsport endured a difficult second race at Le Mans this weekend, despite a strong fourth place for Red Bull driver Mikhail Aleshin. Robert Wickens was forced to start the race from the pit lane following a clutch problem, dispelling any changes of a points paying finish. Despite racing at the back of the field, the 19 year-old Canadian demonstrated his pace to set a new circuit lap record. The team had strong hopes for the second race around the French circuit with Aleshin and Wickens qualifying third and fifth respectively. T... » Read moreMixed results for Carlin at Le Mans
