Edoardo Piscopo hits technical troubles at Chengdu
A1GP.
Edoardo Piscopo suffered from an unlucky break at Chengdu, in the second round of the 2008-2009 A1 Grand Prix. After clinching 7th place at the end of practice, Piscopo suffered from a steering issue at the beginning of qualifying, having to miss much part of the session. The issue conditioned the starting spot, as the Team Italy car was forced to start the two races row 8 and 10. On Race 1, Piscopo ended up in 14th, after suffering from the track's lack of passing opportunities. On Race 2, a problem during the second pit-stop cost him a lot o... » Read moreEdoardo Piscopo scores double podium finish in Euroseries 3000 debut
Euroseries 3000.
The penultimate round of the Euroseries 3000 brought two strong finishes to Edoardo Piscopo. The driver from Rome entered Barcelona to put high-power experience behind his shoulders for the upcoming A1GP round in China, and for his scheduled Ferrari Formula One test. Driving the Sighinolfi Autoracing Lola B02-50, Edoardo cruised to a double podium finish among terrible weather conditions. The two races, held on Sunday, were both conditioned by extreme rain that forced cars to take off behind the safety-car: with the lack of visibility and grip,... » Read morePiscopo hit by hard luck at Vallelunga
Formula 3 Italy.
The final race of the 2008 season in the Italian F.3 Championship didn't end up in a positive manner for Edoardo Piscopo. On his home racetrack, the driver from Rome had his whole weekend compromised since qualifying, when he lost both his decisive flying laps due to a block by a slower car. Piscopo started from row 4 twice, battling all the way up the order in both races, and coming close to podium on Race 2, at the end of a battling recovery. Piscopo will now be focusing on getting back to the A1 Grand Prix of Nation. He'll be entering the Ch... » Read moreEdoardo Piscopo dominates to win both F3 Italia races at Adria
Formula 3 Italy.
Edoardo Piscopo completed a perfect weekend at Adria, in the penultimate round of the 2008 F.3 Italia. The driver from Rome, who came at the racetrack with a 16-point gap from the top spot, started to attack since practice, and cruised to a double pole position in Saturday's qualifying session. At the wheel of the #16 Dallara F308-FPT fielded by Ghinzani Racing, Piscopo dominated Race 1, clocking the fastest lap of the day. On Race 2 he managed repeat after controlling the attacks of Mirko Bortolotti in the initial stages, also collecting... » Read morePiscopo grabs F3 win at Misano and shakes down new A1GP car

Formula 3 Italy.
Edoardo Piscopo was finally back to win at Misano, in the third-to-last round of the Italian Formula Three Championship. The driver from Rome ran strong under the torrential rain that hit the Adriatic World Circuit on Sunday: after taking a double pole position in Saturday's qualification session, he had to settle for 2nd place at the end of Race 1, but a convincing start on Race 2 enabled him to control the main rivals with ease and cruise at speed all-day long. The gap in standings was trimmed down to 16 points with 4 races to go. Bef... » Read more

News, updates, bugs, tired ramblings, small breakdowns and other stuff related to maintaining, adding and expanding Driver Database.A small bug fix
November 14 2008
Fixed a small bug today that's been visible on the driver's career details pages. Up until now the text "Complete results needed" were always shown for non-championship races eventhough race, pole, podium and fastest lap were reported. A bit confusing really - but now we should be rid of it (unless ...
