Hanley victorious in final race

World Series by Renault.
Concluding a Championship, an entire season by obtaining the first place in the final race is one of the best ways for having a good winter especially when the driver who won race 2 at Montmelň is Ben Hanley, second in the World Series Championship. Owing to the reverse grid, Hanley who started in first row (9th in race 1) was third at the first corner. Lap after lap he carefully studied Alejandro Nunez who preceded him, and overtook him at the first corner. Ben then went after Bertrand Baguette, who from the beginning occupied the first positi... » Read morePrema and Hanley's impossible mission didn't work out

World Series by Renault.
Prema and Ben Hanley's mission impossible didn't work out. Alvaro Parente has won the World Series Renault Championship thanks to a third position in Race 1 at Barcelona. Hanley, who started from the eighth row after a difficult qualifying characterised by a lack of grip and a wet track, however performed admirably during the race. The Brit from the Renault Drivers Development overtook a few cars as he had a good pace which allowed him to conclude in ninth position. Now Hanley has to concentrate in maintaining his second position in the Champio... » Read moreHanley went for the fastest lap

World Series by Renault.
Prema and Ben Hanley only had one possibility to obtain some points in the second race of Estoril's World Series Renault: perform the fastest lap in the race. And that's what happened. Hanley, who started the race 29th, gained a few positions at the start, but arriving among the top ten positions was practically impossible. Consequently, Hanley stopped, waited a few laps, changed tyres and went out again when the track was free. The young Brit therefore obtained two precious points as he performed twice the fastest lap, which keeps the hopes... » Read moreIntesive days of testing at Estoril

World Series by Renault.
Two intensive days of testing have characterized the beginning of the penultimate seasonal meeting of the World Series Renault on the Portuguese circuit of Estoril which is hosting the teams and drivers under hot and sunny weather conditions. Prema and Ben Hanley made the most of the four practice sessions, for a total of almost 6 hours, testing various set up solutions. However, during Thursday's second session, an electronics problem, not related to any team's or driver's actions forced the English driver to remain in the box. The fastest lap... » Read moreHanley penalized in race two

World Series by Renault.
The second race of the World Series Renault at Magny-Cours was quite unlucky for the Team Prema. After Ben Hanley's superb victory under the rain in Race 1, this time the Brit was penalized with 25" for causing an avoidable incident between himself and Milos Pavlovic. Hanley had concluded the race in 7th position after starting from tenth on the grid due to the reversed grid system for the first ten classified drivers of race 1. Consequently his 7th position was transformed in fourteenth and therefore with no points. What a disappointment, as t... » Read more

News, updates, bugs, tired ramblings, small breakdowns and other stuff related to maintaining, adding and expanding Driver Database.A small bug fix
November 14 2008
Fixed a small bug today that's been visible on the driver's career details pages. Up until now the text "Complete results needed" were always shown for non-championship races eventhough race, pole, podium and fastest lap were reported. A bit confusing really - but now we should be rid of it (unless ...
