Gearbox woe ends Primat’s Petit Le Mans hopes

American Le Mans Series.
Harold Primat’s chances of a second consecutive Petit Le Mans podium finish were ended by gearbox failure after four hours of an incident-packed ten-hour race at Road Atlanta. The Geneva-based driver shared a Creation CA07 with Jamie Campbell-Walter and Stephen Simpson and the trio were fighting inside the top ten overall of the ultra-competitive prototype field at the time of the failure. Starting from 16th on the grid, South African Stephen Simpson made good progress in the early stages to climb the order during his double stint. Petit Le Mans.
Geneva-based racing driver Harold Primat has been signed by Creation AIM for the British team’s assault on the prestigious Petit Le Mans endurance race in the USA. Primat has enjoyed his best-ever season in 2008, winning the ‘petrol class’ at the Le Mans 24 Hours and leading the same category for much of the season in the Le Mans Series with Pescarolo Sport, and he will now be looking to add a strong finish at Road Atlanta to his season’s impressive cv. Harold, who began his racing career in the States in US Formula Ford, has twice raced ... » Read moreCharging drive earns points for Primat and Tinseau at Silverstone

Le Mans Series.
A hard-charging drive from Harold Primat and co-driver Christophe Tinseau earned the Pescarolo Sport drivers a sixth place class finish after they stormed through the field in the Autosport 1000kms at Silverstone. While the result wasn’t enough to win the unofficial ‘petrol class’ in the overall standings, it represented another fine drive from the Geneva-based Primat and his French colleague and meant another points scoring finish. It also capped a good season for the #17 Pescarolo Sport duo, which has seen an overall podium at Monza and a ... » Read morePrimat and Tinseau fight back for impossible point at the Nurburgring
Le Mans Series.
Geneva-based Harold Primat and co-driver Christophe Tinseau completed a sensational comeback in their Pescarolo 01-Judd to grab eighth in the LMP1 class and a crucial championship point on the last lap of the Nurburgring 1000kms. The remarkable points finish was achieved despite the pair losing around 23 minutes in the pits when the team were forced to replace the left rear driveshaft after a failure early in the race. The result means they remain right in the hunt to end the season as the best-placed petrol-powered car as a number of the... » Read moreHarold Primat: Le Mans Series Nurburgring 1000kms preview

Le Mans Series.
Having finished as the best placed petrol-powered car and in seventh overall at the Le Mans 24 Hours in June, Geneva-based Harold Primat and co-driver Christophe Tinseau now travel to the Nurburgring in Germany looking to defend their position as the best-placed non-diesel machine in the Le Mans Series championship standings. Only a strategic error on fuel, which saw the tanks in their #17 Pescarolo-Judd run dry just 1000 metres from the finish line during the last round at Spa, stopped the pair from taking third place in the LMP1 rankings and ... » Read more

One of Driverdb's more hard working contributers Ross found a weird bug related to driver's birthdates a few days ago. I took a look at it now and found out that PHP's (the scripting language that forms the backbone of the site) mktime function that I use to translate the birth date (which is in a y...
