Alx Danielsson made the impossible possible by claiming the World Series title after scoring a fifth place in the season finale at Barcelona. Coming into the weekend, Danielsson was third in the championship and needed to score big - and that was just what he did. On Saturday he took maximum points by winning the race, taking pole position and setting the fastest lap of the race. On Sunday, Alx started from third position on the grid, but his main opponents were even further back. Alx was fifth after the first lap, a position he held on... » Read moreDanielsson makes it two in big style!

Alx Danielsson dominated the World Series weekend at Donington Park from start to finish by both races and scoring a pole position. The Swede started the first race from the front row, along side South African, Adrian Zaugg, and took the lead on the first lap and crossed the finish line with a margin of almost ten seconds. Alx then took pole position for the second race on Saturday, the gap to second place was more than half a second, and again Alx dominated the race from start to finish, this time finishing seven seconds ahead of Zaugg. ... » Read moreDisappointment in Monaco for Alx

Alx Danielsson had a weekend to forget in Monaco. After a good free practice where Alx felt he had the car to compete for pole position everything fell apart in qualifying. Alx had two attempts destroyed by red flags and on his last attempt he was blocked by Milos Pavlovic. "Milos was making a gap while blocking the track for me even though the blue flags were out," says Alx. "He should have moved out of line but he didn't use his mirrors and that spoiled my weekend. It was especially frustrating to read the data log afterwards. Had I finished... » Read moreGood start for Alx' WSR campaign

A cold and partly wet Zolder race track hosted the first weekend of World Series with a huge crowd of 87 000 people defying the cold weather. Alx finished forth and tenth in two very exciting races. Next up is classic Monaco GP where WSR will warm up the F1 crowd on the Sunday. First of all, hats of for the Comtec Racing team! My engineer Roly Vincini has really worked magic on the setup which makes my life a lot easier. Jonathan Lewis runs a tight ship and all the whole team works hard and I have a good feeling it will pay off. We ... » Read more

News, updates, bugs, tired ramblings, small breakdowns and other stuff related to maintaining, adding and expanding Driver Database.A Date-related bug fixed
November 24 2008
One of Driverdb's more hard working contributers Ross found a weird bug related to driver's birthdates a few days ago. I took a look at it now and found out that PHP's (the scripting language that forms the backbone of the site) mktime function that I use to translate the birth date (which is in a y...
