Home town run continues for Baird

Porsche Carrera Cup Australia.
Six times Craig Baird (ACER/Leading Solutions) has raced in the Carrera Cup at Queensland Raceway and after three victories at the City of Ipswich 400 this weekend, six times he’s won. It’s an amazing record for the Gold Coast based Porsche driver and one which never looked like being challenged after he won Race One yesterday. Baird followed his victory in the first race by claiming Races Two and Three today for a clean sweep of the “Paperclip” circuit. The hat-trick extends his lead in the Championship to 252 points over Dean Fiore (... » Read moreCraig Baird stars on home track

Porsche Carrera Cup Australia.
Craig Baird (ACER/Leading Solutions) has made the perfect start to his Carrera Cup round at the City of Ipswich 400 at Queensland Raceway today by winning the first race of the weekend. After qualifying on pole this morning the Gold Coast based Kiwi streaked off the line, led the field into turn one and was never headed. The win is Baird’s third in four races and extends his Championship lead over Dean Fiore (Complispace/Advance Energy) to 234 points. Fiore finished second in today’s race after starting from fourth on the grid, giving ... » Read moreCraig Baird fastest at the Paperclip on day one

Porsche Carrera Cup Australia.
Carrera Cup Australia Championship leader Craig Baird (ACER/Leading Solutions) has shown he’s not going to rest on his laurels at Queensland Raceway this weekend by being the fastest driver after today’s two practice sessions. Gold Coaster Baird may have a huge lead in the Championship, but based on this morning’s performance he will be out to ensure his gap at the top isn’t reduced. The first practice this morning at QR, where the all-Porsche category is supporting the V8 Supercar Championship Series’ City of Ipswich 400, produced the fa... » Read moreCarrera Cup leader on guard at Ipswich this weekend

Porsche Carrera Cup Australia.
Craig Baird (ACER/Leading Solutions) might have opened a commanding lead at the top of the Carrera Cup Australia Championship but there will be plenty of drivers gunning for him this weekend during the City of Ipswich 400 at Queensland Raceway. A combination of brilliant driving from Baird and bad luck for his closest rivals has seen him increase his lead at the top of the Championship to over 200 points, but with four rounds still to run – including this weekend where the all-Porsche category will support the V8 Supercar Championship Series... » Read moreCraig Baird maikes it four from five

Carrera Cup Australia.
Craig Baird (ACER/Leading Solutions) has extended his lead at the top of the Carrera Cup Australia championship ladder after taking out Round Five of the season at Sandown Raceway this afternoon. The Kiwi racer didn’t win the final race of the afternoon – that privilege went to the Jim Richards backed David Wall (Shannons Insurance) – but his two victories in the first two races and a second in the final race saw him home. The win makes it the fourth win from the first five rounds of the season and Baird is on track to become the first ev... » Read more

August 14 2008

I have too many submissions in the queue for me to waste hours trying to find the real name of the championship and in which class ...
