The AMMA was the last Main Event of the night and there were plenty of fireworks during and after the race. A dry slick track proved to be a challenge for all 20 of the cars in the Main event after 4 other divisions used the track up earlier. Several mishaps occurred as the race went on, but in the end it really turned out to be one exciting race with passing from front to back. Our next scheduled Points Race will be on July 4th at USA Raceway in Tucson. However, there will be a 1st ever Nonwing, Non-Points race this coming weekend in Tucson on the small track. Should be an exciting race and we hope to see you there.

"Smiley" Riley in his #27x Piggly’s Honda Powered ride paced the field of 15 cars to the finish line. It was not just a run-away although as a fast pack was on his heals the entire 20 lap Main Event. Finishing 2nd was another Honda powered car of #8 Jacob Hawkins » Comment on this postJacob "the Hawk" Hawkins does it againSunday, May 31 2009 Written by Russ Martin
Sunday, May 31, 2009 Jacob "the Hawk" Hawkins does it again The AMMA’s return to Canyon Speedway Park for Race #11 of our 25 race season had a great turn-out of 27 cars, and none were faster than the #8 Hyper driven by Jacob Hawkins. "The Hawk" moved up from his 5th starting position to reel in yet his second win of the year. Brandon George in his #17 Pace Chassis led most of the 20 lap Main Event but had to finish 2nd right in front of 3rd place Josh Shipley in his #99 Pace Chassis. The AMMA would like to thank all of the racers that attended this event and a special thanks to our newest members, Chad Lansberry of San Diego, CA, Josh Castro of Peoria and Larry Gibson of Phoenix. The AMMA will be returning to USA Raceway in Tucson on June 6th for Race 12. Hope to see you there. Jacob Hawkins in his #8 Chad Fife owned Hyper Chassis with a Honda 600cc powerplant pulled out a spectacular win in Race #8 at Tucson, AZ on Saturday night over a fast charging #34 1000cc of Kurt Stults owned by Ted Williams. Jake Fife, the Main Wrench on the #8 could not have made their car any better as Jacob held the top spot for the entire race. Hard Charger of the race, Kurt Stults, who started in position #10, wasted no time dicing through the field in his effort to catch the "Hawk" and made it a very exciting race right down to the finish line. The night started out with a field of 18 Modified Midgets on a very fast track. Heat Race #1 was won by the #61 Pace Chassis of "Flying" Matt Jackson with Heat Race #2 going to the #34 of Kurt Stults.
